Solusi Reconnecting Pidgin

Mulai 3 hari lalu, Pidgin ga mau connect2. Awalnya dikira karena masalah setting proxy di browserku yg memang kebetulan banyak [switch proxy on firefox] tapi ternyata di call manager Alibaba, juga karena masalah YM yang ga mau connect karena pakai Pidgin. Terdengar cukup panik, maklum karena belum lama buka layanan penjualan pulsa elektrik via YM di sana ;) Searching ke paman google belum menampakkan hasil, akhirnya dikabarin temen yg dapet solusi dari millist yg diikutinya, spt berikut : buka Manage Accounts buka profile YM dimaksud klik Advance pada Pager Server diganti : cn.scs.msg.yahoo. com Proxy (bawah) dibuat no proxy berikut aku tambahin dgn image spy lebih top markotop : semoga bermanfaat.

Resolusi Maksimal MSI Wind U100

Salah satu kelebihan netbook MSI Wind U100 dibanding pesaingnya di kelas 10", salah satunya dengan pico [sementara yg saya tahu] besutan axioo, terdapat pada kemampuan maksimal resolusi yang bisa diterapkan, yaitu :

1024 x 768

walaupun memang jadi scroll secara vertical.
tetapi fungsi ini sangat membantu pada beberapa aplikasi yg memang mensyaratkan minimal resolusi 1024x768 untuk bisa jalan.
di beberapa aplikasi, pidgin misalnya, saat mengkonfigurasi preference pop windows yg muncul bagian OK nya tidak akan terlihat pada netbook yang hanya bisa resolusi standar 1024x600 saja ;)

ada yg tahu resolusi maksimal ideapad, mininote, eeepc dan nb200 ?

Baru aja dapet email dari salah satu rekan dengan email address @yahoo.co.id, dan ternyata di footnote pesannya terdapat misi JK-Win seperti berikut :

latitude: share lokasi di googlemaps dengan blackberry

feature baru dari google maps yaitu latitude.
dengan fasilitas ini kita bisa berbagi keberadaan lokasi dimana kita berada saat ini dengan rekan lain walaupun handset yang dipergunakan tidak memiliki feature gps.

persiapan :
- blackberry bold [atau curve/storm/javelin]
- account gmail
- download google map di:
m.google.com/maps atau google.com/latitude dari blackberry
- instal google maps

konfgurasi :
- jalankan google maps
- masukan username dan password gmail
- pilih share to friend

Recovery MSI Wind U100

Setelah memakai Wind U100 selama 6 bulan, tiba saatnya aplikasi bonus yang diberikan saat pembelian habis masa pakai atau updatenya, yaitu:

- microsoft office 2007,
- norton internet security 2008,
- norman antivirus.

Karena alasan re-fresh system juga, dilakukan recovery yang sudah menjadi standar di wind dengan cara:

1. persiapan:
- backup semua data yang ada di partisi c:/ ke partisi lain atau media lain seperti misalnya [profile thunderbird, bookmark firefox, config file vnc/winbox/freeping/kerio, file2 di my documents, dsb],
- gunakan power adaptor, hubungkan ke outlet listrik.

2. recovery:
- restart
- saat booting tekan f3
- pilih MSI Recovery Manager
- pilih OK pada konfirmasi bahwa setting dan file di drvice c: akan hilang
- pilih OK pada konfirmasi bahwa partisi c: akan di format
- tunggu sampai proses recovery selesai
- pilih OK saat proses recovery selesai.

Problem Sound pada Dell Vostro A840

Setelah cukup lama penasaran dengan Dell Vostro, akhirnya "nyentuh" juga ;).
Kebetulan yang datang tipe A840 dengan spesifikasi:
processor : intel dual core 2390
memory : ddr2 2GB
harddisk : sata 120GB
layar : 14" wide
feature : wifi, bluetooth, sdcard, usb port, pcmcia slot, dvdrw, rj-11, rj-45. [minus webcam]



kesederhanaan desain tampak seperti seri latitude tetapi dengan kualitas bahan 'sepertinya' berada di bawah latitude.
standar bios dengan hardware diagnostic nya menjadi kelebihan tersendiri dibanding produk sejenis tanpa kemampuan tersebut seperti merk acer, hp, toshiba dsb.

instalasi windows xp berlangsung dengan sedikit masalah, yaitu sound.
Problem sound yang tidak keluar setelah diinstall dari driver yang disertakan, bisa dicoba dengan melakukan uninstall driver dan reinstall dengan driver dari link berikut :

secara keseluruhan, harga 5 jutaan [mei 2009] dengan segala kelebihan dan kekurangan nya bisa dijadikan pilihan untuk kelas 14" dan kebutuhan komputasi bukan grafis.
